Prostate Surgery
One of the common after effects of Prostate Surgery is incontinence and lack of control once the catheter has been removed.
1 – 2 treatments before surgery and 3 after surgery will ensure there is good control as soon as possible.
CAUSES
- Surgery to remove the prostate causes swelling and trauma.
- The catheter is in place after the operation for about 5 days to ensure good emptying of the bladder.
- Once the catheter is removed there is often a degree of leaking which may vary from continuous insensible leaking to occasional squirts when the bladder is under pressure, e.g. bending over.
TREATMENT
- Bladder Retraining
- Pelvic Floor Strengthening Exercises
